Pose and Barefoot Running
As a certified Level I Pose Method running instructor, it is my goal to teach the most efficient, fastest, and most pain-free way for people to run. Pose running technique breaks running down into three simple parts: the running pose, the fall, and the pull. Pose --> Fall --> Pull. Even simpler, all you have to do to run is to change support from one leg to the other by pulling the support foot from the ground. It sounds quite simple, but it takes a lot of practice to retrain your muscle memory to learn the movement, and to unlearn old habits.
Barefoot running allows one to run with better form than when shod with cushy sneakers, but it does not ensure the most efficient running form. Proper running form has to be taught, much like athletes learn how to shoot a basketball properly or swing a golf club. Running is a skill, and without that knowledge many runners, from pros to weekend warriors, endure injuries from repetitive poor form.

Below are some slo-motion videos analyzing runners both before and after they learned the foundations of Pose. Even though they've only had about an hour of instruction, you're able to see marked improvements in their style.
